In a communication shared with supporters, the family revealed that they are facing financial constraints and are appealing for support to raise Kshs1.1 million to facilitate funeral arrangements.
“Our budget is Kshs 1.1 million. This budget is the heart of everything. At the moment, we are unable to move forward with preparations, which is why we are humbly requesting help to enable us to give our beloved son a befitting send-off,” the message read, adding that contributions and pledges are both welcome.
The lock forward last featured for the Madaraka-based side in December during their Kenya Cup clash against KCB Rugby, a match that ended in a 72–10 defeat.
His rugby journey began at Kisumu Day, before he joined Kakamega School.
He later moved to Laiser Hill, Homeboyz RFC, and eventually Strathmore Leos, where he established himself as a key figure in the pack.
As the rugby fraternity continues to mourn Chano’s untimely death, efforts are ongoing to rally support and honor the life of a player whose impact was felt both on and off the field.
