The highly-anticipated showdown pits two of East Africa’s rugby powerhouses against each other, with both sides carrying impressive domestic records into the title decider.

Kabras head into the final looking to further cement their status as the most dominant club in Kenyan rugby.

The Kakamega-based side have reached seven Enterprise Cup finals, winning five of them for an impressive 71.4 percent success rate. Since lifting their maiden title in 2019, the sugar men have gone on to win four of the last five completed editions of the competition.

Their recent Enterprise Cup record speaks volumes. After losing consecutive finals to KCB in 2016 and 2017, Kabras have won every final they have featured in, defeating Impala in 2019, before overcoming KCB in 2022, 2023 and 2024, and Menengai Oilers in 2025.

The Kenyan champions have named a strong squad packed with experience and firepower. The front row of Edward Mwaura, Eugine Sifuna and Ephraim Oduor will be tasked with providing a solid platform up front, while captain George Nyambua partners Hillary Odhiambo in the second row.

In the back row, Collins Indeche, Patrick Lumumba and Jeanson Misoga are expected to play a key role in both attack and defence.

Roy Maruti starts at scrum-half alongside experienced fly-half Ntabeni Dukisa, with Walter Okoth and Bryceson Adaka forming the midfield partnership. Derrick Ashihundu and Mathias Osimbo occupy the wings, while Eric Cantona starts at fullback.

Standing in their way are a Black Pirates side enjoying one of the most successful periods in their history. The Kampala-based club are the reigning Uganda Rugby Premiership and Uganda Cup champions, having won three league titles and three Uganda Cup crowns.

Their route to the final has underlined their credentials. Pirates edged KCB Rugby 11-10 in the quarter-finals before stunning Nondescripts 20-17 in the semi-finals to book a historic appearance in the championship match.

The Ugandan side also arrives with considerable international experience, boasting 13 Uganda internationals in their squad. Among them is former Kabras lock Eliphaz Emong, who will face his former club in what adds another intriguing subplot to the encounter.

Pirates’ pack will be led by Alema Ruhweza, Nathan Bwambale and Ivan Kabagambe in the front row, while Emong and Frank Kidega anchor the second row. Uganda internationals Moses Zziwa, Sydney Gongodyo and Alex Aturinda complete a formidable back row.

Captain Isaac Massanganzira leads the backline alongside Davis Shimwa in midfield, with Conrad Wanyama and William Nkore combining at halfback.

With Kabras chasing another Enterprise Cup crown and Black Pirates seeking to announce themselves as the region’s premier club side, Saturday’s final promises to be a fiercely contested battle between two teams at the peak of East African rugby.

Kick-off is set for 3:00 p.m. at RFUEA Grounds.

The match will be curtain raised by the Mwamba Cup final pitting Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology (JKUAT) Cougars, and Mombasa Rugby.

At the same time, fans will be entertained to the Kenya Sevens vs Great Britain match slated for 2:01 pm.
