In the Women's Premier League, league leaders Blazers are not in action, presenting an opportunity for the chasing pack to reduce the gap at the summit

The 2026 Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) season continues this weekend with another full program of matches across the Men's and Women's Premier Leagues, Super League and National League.

The spotlight in the Men's Premier League will fall on Green Sharks, who continue their difficult return to the top flight after earning promotion at the end of the 2025 season.

They are still searching for their first points after suffering defeats against: Parklands Sports Club, Sikh Union Nairobi, Western Jaguars, Daikyo Heroes and Kenya Police.

Their task becomes even tougher this weekend.

Green Sharks begin with a meeting against Kenya Police on Saturday before facing defending champions, Warriors Hockey Club on Sunday.

Warriors also head into the weekend looking to rediscover winning form after a mixed start to their title defense.

The reigning champions have already shared points with Wazalendo, Kenya Police and Western Jaguars, results that have left them playing catch-up in the early standings.

Before hosting Green Sharks, Warriors' title rivals Wazalendo will first face Kenya Police on Sunday in another fixture that could shape the race near the top of the table.

Elsewhere, Sikh Union Nairobi welcome Parklands Sports Club to Dashmesh Stadium on Saturday.

The Sikhs have quietly enjoyed a strong start to the campaign and will be aiming to remain among the leading pack, while Parklands will be hoping to continue building on their encouraging performances since the opening weekend.

In the Women's Premier League, league leaders Blazers are not in action, presenting an opportunity for the chasing pack to reduce the gap at the summit.

Amira, meanwhile, face a demanding double-header, travelling to the lakeside to play Kisumu Queens on Saturday before another difficult assignment against the Lakers the defending champions less than 24 hours later.

Newly-promoted University of Nairobi Vigilantes continue adjusting to life back in the Premier League with consecutive Nairobi fixtures.

They were supposed to host Kenyatta University on Saturday but the fixture was postponed to a later date.

They subsequently take on Sliders on Sunday as they look to build on the encouraging performances that have marked their return to the top flight.

Strathmore University Ladies will also be hoping to make home advantage count when they welcome Sliders on Saturday.

Attention will also turn to the Men's Super League, where clubs continue settling into the new campaign after only two rounds of matches.

Mvita XI, who have made an unbeaten start with a 2-0 victory over Wazalendo Masters followed by an entertaining 4-4 draw against promoted Impala, face another busy weekend against KCA University and Strathmore University Men.

Having spent nine years outside the Premier League, the experienced Coast outfit will be looking to maintain their positive start and continue building rhythm.

Strathmore University Men, relegated from the Premier League after ending an 18-year stay in the top flight, begin their weekend against Wazalendo Masters before hosting Mvita XI on Sunday.

Impala Club, who earned promotion from the National League last season, continue adapting to Super League hockey when they take on Parkroad Tigers.

The Women's Super League also returns with another round of fixtures as teams continue finding their footing in the early stages of the competition.

Daystar University Ladies host Wazalendo Pearls before facing Lakers B on Sunday, while Twinkle are scheduled to play Swans and Mombasa Sports Club Ladies over the weekend.

However, uncertainty remains over fixtures involving Black Tigress after the club announced its withdrawal from the league before the season.

Their scheduled matches against Mombasa Sports Club Ladies and Swans are expected to be clarified by the Kenya Hockey Union.

In the National League, newly admitted clubs continue beginning their journeys in Kenya's expanding competition structure.

Former East African giants Ulinzi Patriots continue their return to competitive league hockey with matches against Mombasa Sports Club Men on both Saturday and Sunday, while Mang’u Legends host GHF Rift Pirates Men before taking on Masai Mara.
