She is coming off an impressive season last year that saw her nominated to the Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LF2 Awards second team

Kenya Lionesses forward Mercy Wanyama seems to have settled right in her new home - Siauliu Siauliai - with solid double digits points performances in both of her two Lithuania - Moteru Lyga performances this season.

Wanyama completed her one year move to the Lithuanian club on 22 August this year, and was directly involved in the team’s first game of the 2023-24 season on the road against Panevezys, making it as a starter, and going on to play 23 minutes on the floor.

Her statline in the 80-66 win was: 11 points, eight rebounds, and three assists, while shooting 55.6% from the field.

Her second involvement for the team came on 3 October, where she came in off the bench to put up 10 points, five rebounds - three of them on the defensive glass - and two assists.

Despite a slight jump on field goal percentage - 57.1% on 4-7 two-point shooting, her team suffered a huge 83-110 loss to visiting Kibirkstis-MRU, drawing the team’s record to 1-1.

American guard Cassidy Mihalko was the team’s lead scorer in the game with a double-double of 35 points and 14 rebounds.

In her previous stint at Club Mariscos Anton Cortegada of Spain, Wanyama was nominated to the second team of the 2023 EuroBasket All Spanish LF2 league awards, thanks to her season average of 12.9 points, 10.0 rebounds and a 49% field goal percentage.

The former Equity Hawks player next appears for her team on Friday 6 October, when Siauliai takes on Aistes-LSMU at home.

Siauliai are in fourth place in the Moteru Division A standings behind leaders LCC Klaipeda (3-0), Kibirkstis - MRU (1-0) and Neptunas on a 1-1 record.
