The annual event, held at the Karen Country Club yesterday, brought together over 200 lady golfers who were drawn to play in a greensomes format that saw home players paired with guest players over 18 holes.

“We had a good day together with Jacintah and played very well. At the beginning, we just spotted each other's strengths and complemented one another very well. The day started off chilly and then it brightened up and then we had a good day. Personally, when I came in today, I just came in to have fun and then scores showed up," Catherine said after the win.

Wambugu, on her part said, “My partner was driving the ball very well and I was hitting the second shots, while the putting was good. We had very good company; our fourball was just amazing, so we just decided to enjoy ourselves. It was a bit slow on some holes, otherwise it was a beautiful day, graced by beautiful weather for what was a beautiful event.”
