Action continues on Friday paving way for the highly-anticipated community tournament

National volleyball women's league champions KCB kicked off their title defense with an acid test against Post Bank. The match was played at the Koitaleel Samoei University in Mosoriot, Nandi County on Thursday 2 November.

KCB who were under the tutelage of Malkia Strikers' coach Japheth Munala defeated their fellow Bankers 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-19).

Munala said that the win was motivating and that they will be in the hunt for a second win in the league when they lock horns with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday, 3 November.

"This is a morale booster for the team after winning the match. We hope that good things will be coming ahead of us,” said Munala.

The tactician further pointed out that he was anticipating a tough match against their rivals DCI.

“Today’s win has given us an upper hand as we plan to face a tough side tomorrow. We want to leave this place with all six points,” he offered.

Prisons Kenya women saw off Nairobi Prison in three sets of 14-25, 14-25, and 22-25. Kenya Prisons' head coach Josp Barasa pointed out that they were aiming at maximum points in Nandi.

"In the concluded season, we managed to finish third but this time, we want top two and probably reclaim our lost glory,” the excited Baraza offered.

DCI will also be looking for the second win of the season after seeing off Maranatha.

In the men's category, defending champions Kenya Prison held down Rift Valley Prison in straight sets of 25-17, 25-12, and 25-17. Former champions General Service Unit (GSU) saw off the Department of Defence (DoD) in a four-set thriller at 25-23, 25-19, 23-25 and 25-17.
