The two are the only teams tied in the best-of-three playoff quarters. The decider match, scheduled for Sunday, 11 May from 2 PM at Kasarani Indoor Arena, promises edge-of-the-seat action if the previous two are anything to go by.

In Game One, the military side carried the day with a commanding 3-1(25-23,17-25, 25-20, and 25-19) show but were unable to seal the Last Four slot as the bankers returned with a vengeance for 3-2 (29-27,22-25,21-25,25-21, and 25-18) to tie the series and force the decider.

"It was a tough match-up, and this was expected from the get-go. Luck was not on our side in Game Two, and they capitalised on our mistakes just as we had on theirs the previous match. Sunday's match is a must-win for everyone, and I expect my players to remain composed and just execute as we look to make the Semis," offered KDF head coach Elisha Aliwa.

Meanwhile, men's league reigning champions Prisons Kenya, former holders General Service Unit (GSU), and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) all sailed through.

Dennis Mokua’s Prisons were pushed to the wall by a hard-fighting Kenya Forest Service (KFS) in Game One, coming from behind twice, in a five-set thriller to pick a 3-2 (18-25,25-16,32-34, 28-26, and 15-13) win. In Game Two, the warders had a more convincing victory, taking down KFS 3-1(25-17,23-25, 25-20, and 25-19).

On their part, GSU faced off with KAPU, winning both matches in straight sets of 3-0 (25-19,25-20,25-17) and 3-0 (25-19,25-22, 28-26). The side finished top of the regular league standings.

Just like GSU, Mombasa-based KPA did not drop any sets against Trailblazers, cruising through to a 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-22) on Friday before taking Game Two in 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-20).

Meanwhile, the favourites in the women’s quarters held at Nyayo National Stadium Gymnasium saw defending champions KCB, Kenya Pipeline, Kenya Prisons, and Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) all sealed semi-final berths after completing doubles against opponents KDF, Nairobi Prisons, Kenya Army, and Postbank respectively.
