The fight for playoff slots and relegation survival is now heating up as the league conclusion nears.
Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men's league side, Umoja are out to correct their mistakes from their last weekend's outing when they host Eldonets Platinum at Ulinzi Complex on Saturday 11 February.
The Kelvin Sunguti-coached Umoja are coming off a painful 59-47 loss to Strathmore Blades. The Eastlands-based side crumbled in the second half of the match, letting go of a ten-point advantage at half time for the loss.
Their opponents for the day, Eldonets are coming off a crucial 72-68 win over Kenyatta University Pirates, a seventh victory of the season that puts them in good standing for a playoff slot.
In other men's league matches of Saturday, Zetech Titans are chasing a third victory of the season, buoyed by last weekend's victory over Africa Nazarene University (ANU) Wolfpacks.
The Job Munene-led Titans play Blades in a varsity derby that has all the indicators of a thriller.
"We have to fight to survive relegation. We have had a long season of loss after another but morale in camp is high and we will not make it easy for Blades or any other opponent in the remaining matches," offered Titans top scorer Eric Odondo.

Former champions Ulinzi Warriors play Nairobi City Thunder in the other match of the men's league on Saturday.
In the women's league, last season's playoffs semifinalists Storms have their eyes set on clinching a win against the visiting Eldonets Ladies.
Storms suffered a shock defeat to ANU Panthers in a 53-52 outcome, a match that they had dominated for the better part but could not hold on for victory.
Caleb Osewe's Kenyatta University Orxy have a date with University of Nairobi (UoN) Dynamites in another varsity derby.
