The President is likely to preside over the official opening.
In October 2020, President Uhuru Kenyatta commissioned the construction of an ultra-modern Ulinzi Sport Complex at the KDF Lang'ata Barracks.
The facility is set to be officially opened on Wednesday 13 April, Mozzart Sport has learned.

At the ground-breaking event, it was announced that the complex, which was to be constructed alongside a wellness centre, was to house a 7,500 capacity stadium, with an 8-lane athletics track, two training grounds, basketball court, tennis court, swimming pool, hockey and rugby grounds and parking spaces.
President Kenyatta said the complex will go a long way in promoting Kenya as a sporting nation.
"I am pleased to note that the upcoming sports complex will be available to KDF persons, but also offer mentorship opportunities in various disciplines. It will add value to our national prestige and brand as a sporting nation and increase Kenya's opportunities to host more international events in future," the President offered.

Mozzart Sport can confirm that the football pitch and athletics track are ready, complete with floodlights enabling night matches. An indoor arena has also been constructed.
Some of the teams set to benefit from the new facility are Ulinzi Starlets and Stars who ply their trade in the country's top tier football leagues.
The indoor facility is likely to be open for use by the military's volleyball sides that play in the national league, Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men's league champions Ulinzi Warriors, the women's netball team, handball side Ulinzi HC and Ulinzi Sharks as well other individual sports especially the martial arts athletes.

The KDF annual athletics track and field meeting set for 20 April is likely to be held at the facility.
