McLaren's Lando Norris won the British Grand Prix, but it was the 37-year-old Sauber driver who stole the show
Silverstone never fails to deliver drama, and it happened again on Sunday afternoon at the British Grand Prix.
McLaren's Lando Norris won the race, benefiting from a 10-second penalty handed to his teammate, Oscar Piastri. However, this time it was all about the third-placed Formula 1 driver, Nico Hulkenberg.

The 37-year-old German veteran, racing for Sauber, took his first podium finish at the 239th attempt, thus setting a new world record for the longest time before finishing in the top three. It took him "only" 5,593 days in F1 to get his podium! He managed to grab the third-place finish despite some serious efforts in the closing laps of Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who eventually came fifth.
When it comes to Norris and Piastri, the latter was punished for driving erratically during a restart after one of two safety-car periods at Silverstone. Before that, he had led the race calmly through a heavy rain, but Norris passed him after the penalty in the closing laps.

Piastri was angry, but said he was "not going to say much because he'd get himself into trouble".
"Apparently you can't break behind the safety car any more, I did it for five laps before that," he said.
