A big trade just ahead of the draft: Kevin Durant and Devin Booker joined in Arizona by a star Wizard
The Denver Nuggets defeated the Phoenix Suns in the semifinals of the NBA Western Conference. The Arizona squad really wants a championship ring and in order to do that, they believe a more lethal roster will get them there. That is why the Suns executives decided to bring Kevin Durant and Devin Booker more help in the attack. Bradley Beal, the recent star of Washington, is the new member of the Phoenix Suns.
Just ahead of the NBA draft, the Wizards and Suns agreed to a trade. The franchise from the capital of the USA received a big name in return, albeit a veteran at the end of his career, master of assists Chris Paul. Also, in exchange for Beal, Phoenix will also send Landry Shamet and several picks in the second round of the draft.
Several NBA trade specialists state that the Wizards are likely to reroute Paul in a trade and that the LA Clippers are expected to pursue a reunion with the 'Point God'.
Beal signed a five-year, $251,000,000 max contract with Washington last summer. Last season, the prolific scorer averaged 23.2 points, had 3.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists. With a percentage of 50.4 percent in the past championship, he had the best shot in his ten-year career in the NBA league.
The Washington Wizards have been one of the weaker franchises in the East for years, with no chance for greater success, which certainly influenced Beal's decision to request and receive a trade. He will move to Arizona and with Durant and Booker he should form a hellish offensive trio, one of the best in the strongest basketball league in the world.
Beal was the third pick in the 2012 draft. He wore the Washington jersey his entire career. He is 30 years old, and received three All-Star selections (2018, 2019 and 2021).
