Ndone is calling on well wishers and partners to come in and help the club and sport grow

Tennis Kenya, earlier in the week traveled to Kitui County, Muthale area where they supported a local club with equipment that will help the Alex Ndone-led club with furthering their activities in the area.

The club, based at Muthale Primary school is open to all in the community and Ndone has been churning great tennis players at the secondart school games for several years.

However, lack of funds and the most basic of equipment has seen the club's growth stunt and the coach is calling on well wishers to chip in and help him further the sporting agenda in the area.

"We are grateful to Tennis Kenya and ITF who partnered to give us the much-needed racquets and balls that will go a long way in helping the children who have shown interest in the sport," offered Ndone.

The tactician is confident that the club can do more for the sport in the county and beyond if accorded more help.

"What Tennis Kenya provided is good for beginners and we are grateful for the support. They have pledged more support for our more advanced players who need more advanced equipment which will be a big boost," he continued.

Ndone is looking for partners that can make his a fully-fledged club as opposed to a training centre for school-going tennis players.

"We have the skills to compete at the national level but financial constraints make it almost impossible to have the players who are no longer in school take part in tournaments across the country.

We are looking for ways to have them join bigger clubs that can provide that constant competition as we look to ways to address this. The perfect situation would be having all representing Muthale," Ndone explains.
