
Singles Matchplay set to conclude inaugural Patron’s Cup at Muthaiga

The event is in commemoration of the late President Mwai Kibaki who was the Kenya Golf Union patron for years.
Muthaiga Golf Club, Sigona Golf Club, Nyali Golf Club and Golf Park Golf Club are still on the lead in their different categories of the 2022 inaugural Patron's Cup which is being played at Muthaiga Golf Club after day two.
On Sunday 16 October, individual representatives from each of the golf clubs participating facing off on the greens for a grueling Singles Matchplay.
Muthiaga Golf Club garnered 18 points in round one and 12 points in round two to lead the Trophy Category.

Sigona Golf Club had 21 points in round one and nine points round two to win the Shield Category. Nyali Golf & Country Club had 30 points in round one and nine in round two to lead in the Plaque category while Golf Park had 12 points in round one and 12 points in second round to win the Bowl Category.
On Saturday, the teams played four ball better ball in the morning and faced off in foursomes format in the afternoon.

The event which is in commemoration of the late President Mwai Kibaki who was also the Kenya Golf Union patron attracted 13 clubs each comprising of 12 players.
Speaking from Muthaiga Golf Club, the venue of the event, Philip Ochola, KGU's vice chairman noted that the players are playing under the rules of golf as set by the R&A and referees have been deployed to ensure that the rules are followed.
