The older sister Williams clinches her first victory on the WTA tour since January
Yes, fairytales are interesting, but have you heard about Venus Williams? Former world No. 1 in both singles and doubles, Williams has won seven Grand Slam singles titles, five at Wimbledon and two at the US Open. She is widely regarded as one of the sport's all-time greats, but all that was ages ago...

For years, she's been absent from the court, and after returning, she has played just four matches, with the last victory dating back to January 2023. However, her comeback seems to have taken another turn tonight as Venus - currently 679th on the WTA tour - topped the 48th player Camila Giorgi 2-1 (7-6, 4-6, 7-6) at the 2023 Birmingham Classic Round of 32!
Just two days after her 43rd birthday, Serena's older sister made a miraculous achievement on grass as she got a wild card invitation to appear in the tournament. Still, it didn't bother the veteran star, and if she keeps going like that, maybe we'll see her very soon at Wimbledon via the wild card, too.
Venus Williams: “I hadn’t played her in so long..I think she loves this surface… She’s dangerous out here.”

Interviewer: “So are you”
Venus: “Oh, thank you! And I hit some servers at 120 mph today so I was like ‘Oh my god. There it is. I’ve missed you!’” 😂

She didn't confirm anything regarding that but recently admitted that she was done with doubles which make many believe that her singles career is almost at an end. What a story it would be if we see her again at the All England Club for the last time before calling it quits.
