Oklahoma City noted a vital road win over Minnesota and will have a match point for the Finals in front of their home fans in two days
In the first years of the franchise, Oklahoma had a fantastic trio: Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden, and hoped for a title. Still, they did not meet expectations, and the Thunder faced years of struggling. However, their glorious time may have come now, with another outstanding trio!
Last night, Mark Daigneault's crew brushed Minnesota aside 128-126, noting a crucial victory on the road and will have a match point in front of their home fans in two days to secure their first NBA Finals since 2012!
The Timberwolves were last in front midway through the opening quarter (15-14), as the Thunder were in the lead all the time until the end of the game and absolutely deserved to triumph, while their leading trio combined for 95 points!
The new NBA MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, was on the verge of a triple-double, noting 40 points, nine rebounds, and ten assists. Jalen Williams followed him with 34 points, while Chet Holmgren poured on 21.
On the other hand, T-Wolves' leading players fell seriously short, as Anthony Edwards scored 16 points (5/16 FG), and Julius Randle was abysmal with only 5 points (1/7 FG). Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Jaden McDaniels, with 23 and 22 points, respectively, and Donte DiVincenzo, with 21, were the most efficient in the home crew.
The next - and possibly final - game of the series is scheduled for Thursday (03.30) at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.
