Organisers are considering either Malindi or Mombasa, subject to venue availability.
The annual event, a collaboration between Tennis Kenya and the Omanyala Foundation, has steadily grown into one of Kenya’s most vibrant grassroots tennis platforms. It offers children aged three to 10 an opportunity to learn, compete, and dream big.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, organisers noted that the move to Mombasa was part of efforts to expand the tournament’s reach beyond Nairobi and give more children across the country a chance to participate.
Junior Tennis Ambassador Ferdinand Omanyala, who has been at the forefront of the initiative since its inception, expressed his enthusiasm about the event's growth and direction.

“The Omanyala Tennis 10s is one of those projects that really speaks to my heart because it’s about giving kids a platform early. I believe talent should be spotted and supported from a young age, and this tournament is doing exactly that,” Omanyala said.
The sprint sensation went on to note that every edition reminds him of the importance of nurturing talent from the ground up.
“Every time I come here and see these young players full of energy, I’m reminded that greatness starts small. These are the future stars of Kenyan tennis, and maybe even global champions in the making,” he said.
For Omanyala, who continues to use his influence beyond athletics, the tournament is also about shaping character and showing that sports can be a life-changing path.
“For me, it is not just about running fast, but about showing the next generation that with discipline, hard work, and consistency, sports can change your life. That’s the same message we want to pass to these kids through tennis,” he explained.
According to Africa's fastest man, the decision to take the 2026 edition to the coastal region is aimed at tapping into untapped potential and inspiring children from different backgrounds.
“Taking the 2026 edition to Mombasa will be a game-changer. It is a chance to reach new talent, especially kids who might not always have access to such events.
We want every child in Kenya, regardless of where they come from, to believe that they can be champions too,” he said.

Omanyala emphasised that beyond competition, the event is all about connection, mentorship, and hope.
“When kids see me come down to their level, not on TV, but right here with them, they realise that dreams are valid. That is what makes this event so special to me. It is about inspiring, connecting, and creating opportunities,” he concluded.
