Kenyan pugilist ended the affair in the second round.
African Boxing Union middleweight titleholder Rayton Okwiri knocked out Colombian Fidel Muñoz in the second round of an eight-round non-title fight in the USA on Sunday morning. The fight was promoted by Michael Reyes of Reyes Boxing INC.
Heading into the fight, the 33-year old Colombian had featured in 65 fights, winning 35, drawing one, and losing 25 of the bouts. Okwiri on the other hand had featured in seven, winning six and drawing the other.
In the ring, Okwiri was too fast for Munoz who struggled to throw any jabs at the now US-based Kenyan boxer. Munoz went down several times before finally going down one final time in the second round which he never recovered from.

Heading into the match, Okwiri had exuded confidence that he would knock out the experienced Colombian.
“I’m not bothered by my opponent’s record, he won’t last eight rounds because I’m in good shape now,” he told Citizen Digital.
Okwiri moved to the US in May on a five-year professional training contract says he is enjoying it in Boston as
“I prefer training in the US because of tough sparring partners unlike in Kenya where we lack stiff competition during sparring sessions,” he added.
