Okutoyi is also taking part in the singles category of the tournament, where she is the 12th seed, and will face unseeded Ela Nala Milic in the second round after being given a bye in the first round as Milic defeated Canada’s Dylan Gelber 6-0, 6-1 in their first round tie.
Back in July 2022, Okutoyi went down the history books when she lifted the Wimbledon Girls' Doubles title to become the first ever Kenyan player to win in any Grand Slam Tournament alongside Netherlands’ Rose Marie Nijkamp.
After the tournament in Canada, Okutoyi will be making her fourth and last Junior Grand Slam appearance when she competes at the US Open Junior Championship taking place from 4-11 September.

She followed that with appearances at Roland Garros (R2) and Wimbledon where she atoned for her Round 1 exit in singles with a title in Doubles alongside her Dutch partner Rose Marie Nijkamp.
