Action in the KLGU open will tee off at 7:10 AM, with Susan Ngure and Keziah Korir off the first tee.

Last year’s Kenya Amateur Match Play golf champion, Vet Lab Sports Club’s Mercy Nyanchama headlines a deep field set to tee off on Friday 13 April for the first leg of the 2023 KCB East Africa Golf Tour.

Nyanchama tees off at 8am alongside Frankie Gichuru and Doris Mideva.

The event which will be part of the first Kenya Ladies Golf Union (KLGU) Open meeting of the year, will see over 60 elite amateur ladies take on the par-72 Vetlab course, over three days.

In addition to the elite amateurs’ action, KCB will be hosting two golf clinics for ladies and juniors on Friday afternoon and Sunday morning, respectively.

“We are glad to have partnered with the KLGU to host this first event on our calendar. This sponsorship speaks to the tour’s goal of expanding the reach of the sport of golf across the region.

This is why we will also be hosting the clinics to expand the reach of the sport. In addition to this weekend, we will be hosting other two ladies-only events during the tour,” KCB Group Director Marketing and Communications, Rosalind Gichuru said.

Action in the KLGU open will tee off at 7:10 AM, with Susan Ngure and Keziah Korir off the first tee. On the field are former winners, Catherine Oosterwijk, Eleanor Wambui and Agnes Nyakio.

From Vetlab, the KCB East Africa Golf tour will move to Eldoret Sports Club for the second leg on the 22 April, before landing in Limuru on the 29 April.
