NBA 'nepo babies' #1 - the Antetokounmpos

Giannis' youngest brother, Alex, will sign a two-way deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, despite averaging 0.6 points per game in the Greek League last season?!

Nepotism has always been an ever-present phenomenon across various spheres, from music and film to politics and sports. However, over the last few decades, instances of nepotism have become more frequent than ever.

After all, the term "nepo baby" ("nepotism baby") was coined around 2010 and popularized a decade later, and refers to a person who has gained advantages, opportunities, or fame primarily because of their family connections, especially having famous or influential parents or relatives.

It's hard to determine who could be "the ultimate nepo baby" in general, but when it comes to sports, there is almost no dilemma. Out of millions of athletes out there, the #1 names in this category would have to be the Antetokounmpo brothers.

One of them, Giannis, is an immensely talented world-class basketball player. The other three are - his brothers.

Namely, despite their "questionable quality," so to say, the popular Greek Freak's brothers are all involved in the "game of hoops."

The oldest, Thanasis, was the first to join Giannis in the NBA. And while the two-time NBA MVP paved his way in Milwaukee, Thanasis spent years in NBA G League, Spain, and Greece before joining his bro in Wisconsin in 2019.

In five seasons with the Bucks, he played 196 games, averaging 7.7 minutes and 2.4 points per game. Still, that somehow convinced Milwaukee to re-sign him on a one-year contract a month and a half ago.

And if that wasn't enough, there's more, as the youngest of the four brothers, Alex, also signed a two-way deal with the Bucks a couple of days ago, despite averaging 4.4 minutes and 0.6 points per game in the Greek League! This way, Milwaukee became the first-ever NBA team with three brothers on the roster.

The only one who is (for now) out of the Wisconsin franchise is Kostas Antetokounmpo, who played for the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers, and currently represents the Greek and Euroleague giants, Olympiacos.

However, based on the experience, it would be no surprise if he also took the first flight to Milwaukee and completed this "gang" of "AntetokounmBROs."
