Giannis Antetokounmpo gave Milwaukee the win over the Pacers in Indiana with a last-second shot

Just when Indiana had tasted the sweetness of victory, they fell back into old habits. On the night between Monday and Tuesday, they suffered another defeat — their sixth in seven games so far. And this one will hurt more than the previous ones, even more than the overtime loss to Oklahoma earlier in the season.

Because tonight’s defeat didn’t just come at the hands of Milwaukee — it was sealed by the ever more disliked Giannis Antetokounmpo, with a buzzer-beater — 117–115.

The visiting team finally pulled away late in the third quarter, heading into the final period with a seven-point lead (84–77). The Bucks defended that advantage comfortably over the last 12 minutes, not allowing the Pacers to mount a comeback.

It seemed Milwaukee had finally broken Indiana’s resistance, but the Pacers rose once again and struck back — Aaron Nesmith tied the game with 14 seconds left. Then Giannis, who had missed three of four free throws in a tense finish, decided to take matters into his own hands and redeem himself for those earlier misses. Nesmith tried to stay in front of him, Jackson came over to help, but it was no use. Antetokounmpo powered into the paint and hit the game-winning shot over both defenders as the buzzer sounded.

The Greek finished with 33 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists, while Kuzma and Green followed with 15 and 13 points respectively. For the losing side, Pascal Siakam led the way with 32 points, eight assists, and five rebounds. Jackson posted a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Walker and Nesmith contributed 18 and 17 points.
