Here’s a brief roundup of tonight’s most exciting NBA games
As of tonight, Oklahoma is the only undefeated team in the NBA! Their aura of invincibility was first broken by Chicago, who fell to New York 128–116, followed by San Antonio, whom Phoenix schooled in three-point shooting at home — 130–118.
“This is the world of Victor Wembanyama. The rest of the NBA is just trying to keep up,” read the preview of the Spurs-Phoenix game on the official NBA website. Whoever wrote that intro seems to have jinxed the 224 cm French phenom.
Wembanyama, who averages 30.2 points, 14.6 rebounds, and 4.8 blocks per game, had carried the Spurs to a 5–0 start — the first in the franchise’s 59-year history — but tonight, he and the team collapsed.

He finished with just nine points, nine rebounds, and two assists in 35 minutes. Although he recorded four blocks, he also had six turnovers. By halftime, the Suns led 70–52 and continued to punish the visitors all night with flawless three-point shooting — 19 triples on 33 attempts, compared to San Antonio’s 10 on 41. Devin Booker led the way with 28 points and also topped the game in assists with 14.
Meanwhile, Chicago lost its undefeated status despite a triple-double from Josh Giddey — 23 points, 12 rebounds, 12 assists. Jalen Brunson shone with 31 points for the Knicks, while Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 20 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists.

Both teams shot excellently from beyond the arc: the Knicks made 20 of 42 threes, the Bulls 17 of 40. The difference came from free throws, with the home side hitting a perfect 22/22, while Chicago made 9/11.
Serbian coach Darko Rajakovic was all smiles as Toronto defeated Memphis 117–104, securing back-to-back wins to reach a 3–4 record after seven games. The game was highlighted by Canadian RJ Barrett, not only as the team’s top scorer with 27 points and six rebounds and assists but also for an impressive poster dunk on Jock Landale.

Finally, Tyrese Maxey had a sensational start to the season as Philadelphia beat Brooklyn on the road 129–105. Maxey became just the fifth player in NBA history with six consecutive games of 25+ points and five or more assists. He joins Luka Doncic (2022–23), James Harden (2016–17), Allen Iverson (2005–06), and Nate Archibald (1972–73) in this exclusive group.
