Volleyball action continues on the weekend as teams chase playoff slots.

Shadrack Misiko's blocks and swift attacks were a clear winner for General Service Unit (GSU) as his side dispensed Kenya Forest Service (KFS) by straight sets in a Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) men's league match played at the Nyayo National Stadium earlier today.

The Gideon Tarus-led dominated the first two sets but struggled in the third set, recovering in the final moments to win 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 27-25).

"We struggled a bit because of the weather and playing outdoors. But we were prepared for a tough match as KFS are one of the team's that give us problems when we face them.

I am, however, happy that our defense was better, especially on blocks, than the last time we played against them and we also served well," Misiko who led the team to victory with his blocking prowess offered.

The team's libero Hudson Kipchumba says the team is still struggling with reception and being his main role in the team, he says that there is still room for improvement.

"At a personal level, I need to perfect my reception and help the team get back court defense right. How well we cover the our and rotate on defense influences the results and we are still working on that," Kipchumba offered.

Meanwhile, Elisha Aliwa-coached Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) dominated their match against Prisons Rift Valley to pick a straight-sets victory in 25-20, 25-22 and 25-23.

Additionally, Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) beat Prisons Nairobi 3-0 ( 25-16, 25-19, 25-17) in a match that the latter played under protest as the dockers fielded two players Peter Kamara and Dennis Omollo who recently had landed some pro deals but are back in the country.
