In a groundbreaking development for the African esports scene, PUBG mobile has officially announced the 2025 PUBG Mobile Africa Cup, offering gamers across Sub-Saharan Africa a direct route to the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) for the first time ever.
This historic initiative marks a major milestone, opening competitive mobile gaming’s most prestigious global tournament to African players through a dedicated regional qualifier.

The 2025 Africa Cup will run from 26 June to 9 July 2025, with team registrations now open via the PUBG Mobile app.
Players from across the continent will battle it out in online qualifiers and group stages, with top-performing teams earning a spot in the grand final to be held in Kenya in September 2025.
The ultimate winner will not only claim bragging rights as Africa’s finest squad, but also book a direct ticket to the PMGC 2025 finals, joining elite teams from around the world.
The Africa Cup features a $8,000 (approximately Kshs 1,033,600 on current exchange rate) prize pool, sponsored by leading smartphone brand Infinix.
The top team will walk away with $2,000( Kshs 258,371) and a coveted PMGC qualification slot.
Runners-up will receive $1,400 (Kshs 180, 859) and $1,000 (Kshs 129, 185) for third place, with prize payouts extending down to the 16th position — ensuring wide reward distribution across the leaderboard.
