Three suspects are in police custody following the break in witnessed at Kasarani Stadium last month.
Sports Kenya Director General Pius Metto has moved to assure teams and athletes of the security of their valuables at the facilities that fall under his jurisdiction.
Metto's assurance comes hardly two weeks after the unfortunate incident where burglars broke into the dressing room during a league match pitting Nairobi City Stars and Gor Mahia and made away with cash and mobile phones.
City Stars who were using the facility for the first time in close to six years were met with shock when the players retreated to the changing rooms for the halftime breather as they found their bags wide open with cash and other valuables missing.
According to the club, the burglars who are suspected to have accessed the room through the window had made away with a total of Ksh 94,050 and 13 phones. The Gor's changing room was not affected by the break-in.
Metto revealed that three suspects were nabbed on Sunday during a league match between City Stars and FC Talanta following an extensive review of the CCTV footage.
The administrator while absolving his office from blame said the home team handed the mandate to man their changing room to the wrong hands and advised potential clients to vet their stewards before hiring them.
"We would like to assure any team or individuals willing to use our facilities of the security of their valuables. All the changing rooms are under CCTV surveillance that is manned jointly by us and the Police. I would like to advise teams to scrutinize their stewards thoroughly so that we do not have a repeat of the same," he said.

Meanwhile, Metto says the suspects fell into the trap laid by the Police as they were nabbed on Sunday at the stadium after turning up for the City Stars vs Talanta game.
"The Police identified them on time but the challenge was smoking them out of their hideouts. They laid in wait and luckily, they showed up on Sunday," he said.
