The national team will be in action on Saturday afternoon from 3 in the tournament-closing match.
In a splendid display of mastery and a dramatic finish to a highly competitive match, Ice Lion Man Eaters defeated Howe Cheetahs 6-5 at the ongoing Kenya Ice Hockey League Friendship Tournament that concludes on Saturday at the Panari Hotel.
This was one of three matches played on the final day of the four-day championship that opens action for the national team Kenya Ice Lions.

Mike Otieno was the star of the match for Maneaters, grabbing a hattrick and the winning goal with just 32 seconds to the end of the game.
As the match was locked at five goals, Maneaters kept a fighting spirit with spectacular defensive skills on their own goal to deny Cheetahs some sitters as they caught them against the run of play for the winning goal.
"It was a really competitive match, as has been throughout the championship and this was a sweet win. As Maneaters, we have played three matches winning two, but the experience has been totally worth it," Maneaters assistant captain Trevor Mwangi told Mozzart Sport.

Peter Kamau, Hussein Shah and Mwangi bagged the other three goals for Maneaters in the win as Katrina Armstrong scored a brace for the losers. Rich Thoel, Dylan Ross and Erin Das were the other scorers for Cheetahs.
"This has been a good start to the year for us as we do not have many opportunities to compete in the country or even overseas. I am hoping this is the beginning of a busy year that will help us get the exposure we need for the national team," added Mwangi.
