
Maluki elected Africa Judo Union chairman

He will be deputized by Madagascan Siteny
Kenyan Shadrack Maluki has been elected as new chairman of Africa Judo Union in the just concluded polls held in Dakar, Senegal.
The Kenya judo federation president under joint candidate of Team Siteny beats a strong opposition to clinch the highly coveted seat for the next five years.
Maluki joins other few Kenyans holding leadership positions in the continental sports bodies.
His joint candidate Thierry Siteny of Madagascar was elected the new president of the Africa Judo Union.

Speaking after the polls the judoka said his team is ready to help popularize the sport on the continent making it accessible many people.
Earlier, the administrator had exuded confidence in flooring his challengers to the post.
"Our objective in Team Siteny is to transform judo in the entire continent. We know where we are going and we know what Judo needs in terms of leadership which is missing. As team Siteny, we are focused in bringing this within our period of office we will take African Judo to the next level,"he said.
Maluki doubles up as the first deputy president of the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) and the current president of the Kenya Judo Association.
