Preparations for the National U20 Men’s Volleyball Team, Junior Wafalme Stars are set to commence on Wednesday, 3 September ahead of the 2025 African Nations Volleyball Championship.

The African tourney is scheduled for Cairo, Egypt, from Thursday, 11 to Sunday, 21 September and will be used as the Continental Qualifiers to the FIVB 2026 U21 Men's Volleyball World Championship.
Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) has named a technical bench headed by former Kenyan International Luke Makuto who will be assisted by Gideon Njine as they look to walk in the footsteps of Junior Malkia Strikers and qualify for the global competition.
Makuto, in the last season, led Kenya Airport Police Unit (KAPU) as head coach, guiding the team to promotion from Division Two to Division One and a place in the playoffs in their first season in the top division, earning them a spot in the Kenya Cup Tournament.
He guides the side that will have most of its players drawn from the two men's leagues and the recently-concluded Secondary School games.
The side will have great motivation from the girls' U20 team that beat all and sundry in Cameroon to clinch their maiden African title.
In the 2024 tournament, held in Tunis, Tunisia, four teams featured with the hosts claiming their 11th title, as Egypt finished as runners-up with Morocco in third place. Burundi finished fourth.
