Ksh 400,000 on offer as KAGC series heads to Eldoret for Manchester Salver

The tournament, which is recognized as a WAGR event promises to deliver thrilling competition and exceptional talent having delivered different winners in the three previous events

The highly anticipated NCBA Manchester Salver will take place from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 Nov November at the pristine Eldoret Golf Club.

Defending champion Michael Karanga headlines a list of 78 elite golfers compete set to tee off at the par 72 golf course, making a return to the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) after missing out on the last leg of the series held in Kericho last weekend. 

He is not only aiming to secure his title but also to maintain his position as the top-ranked golfer in the country. 

Other players to look out for include home player Ken Serem, Muthaiga’s Daniel Kiragu and Golf Park’s Sammy Mulama who has been camping in Eldoret having finished third in Kericho. 

Three ladies, are also set to feature in this event including Eldoret club chairperson Esther ChumoFaith Chemutai of Nandi Bears and Sarah Nyareru of Karen Country Club.

The NCBA sponsored event has a total prize fund of Ksh 400,000 with the overall winner set to take home Ksh92,000. 

"We are excited to be part the 2024 NCBA Manchester Salver at Eldoret Club and are grateful for the overwhelming interest from golfers. Thanks to this series, we have more Kenyans in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR)," Chris Kinuthia, the vice chairman of the Kenya Golf Union (KGU) said.
