
KSF placed under FINA stabilization committee

Representatives from FINA are set to visit the country in the coming days to guide and solidify the operations.
Kenya Swimming Federation (KSF) will, for the next six months operate under a stabilization committee that has been put in place by the world governing body FINA.
This follows a meeting held by the FINA Bureau to discuss the repeated failure of KSF to comply with the governing body's decisions.

The committee, chaired by Kace Baidoo with Moses Benson and National Olympics Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) Secretary General Francis Mutuku as members will run all day-to-day operations of the federation.
They will have the federation’s constitution and, if deemed necessary, propose necessary amendments, organize and conduct the election of the KSF board of directors.
FINA Bureau observed that was still not able to hold elections, based on rules and regulations complying with FINA mandatory rules.
Furthermore, the FINA Bureau drew specific reference to the federation’s failure to properly respect the consequences of its current suspension.
The term of appointment for the stabilization committee will expire no later than 6 months after appointment by the Bureau and may be extended as necessary.
Representatives from FINA are set to visit the country in the coming days to guide and solidify the above operations, meet the Ministry of Sports and stakeholders at a date and time to be communicated.
