
KPA jet out for BAL qualifiers

Kenyan representatives at this year's Basketball Africa League (BAL) qualifiers Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) jet out of the country this evening for Madagascar where their group matches will be played from 18 October.
KPA are in group D together with hosts COSPN, Djabal Basket of Comoros Islands, Zimbabwe’s Foxes Basketball Club, Dekeddaha Sports Club (Somalia) and Mauritius’s Roche Bois Warriors.
Two teams proceed to the round of 16 from the group stage.
Dockers have been in residential training for the last one week with coach Sammy Kiki taking advantage of the competition rules to bolster his squad ahead of the championship.
The tactician has enlisted the services of former players Ariel Okall and last season's KBF Most Valuable Player (MVP) Ken Wachira from Uganda's Namuwongo Blazers. Also joining the squad are Tony Townsend and Lowman Wade who add to KPA's depth.
With the organisers requiring every team to have a Under-22 local player in their squad, Kiki, has also enlisted the services of Dennis Koja who turns out for Strathmore Blades.
Other players include Eugene Adera, Job Byron, Joseph Khaemba, Martin Kitong'o, Victor Odendo, Nick Ogol, Frankline Omondi, Lennox Wanje and John Wiljass. Tobias Odhiambo is also expected to feature of cleared.
