The race for playoffs points heats up
Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) leagues continue on Saturday 4 September 2021 with former champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) set to host University of Nairobi sides.
In the women's league Juma Kent-coached UoN Dynamites, coming off a 47-43 loss to Eagle Wings, will play KPA from 2 pm at Makande Hall.
"We are playing a strong team without two key players Liz Okumu and Winnie Chebet who are in camp with Kenya Lionesses and could not be allowed to travel to Mombasa. It will not be an easy match but I believe the players will give it their all," said coach Kent.
Coach Eugene Genga, UoN Terror head coach, will take charge of both the men's and women's matches as coach Kent is unavailable for the KPA match.
Antony Ojukwu's charges, KPA women, are looking to put their loss to Equity Bank behind them and bounce back to winning ways.
In the corresponding men's league match, coach Sammy Kiki is also hoping to see his team bounce back to winning ways on home ground, having lost their last home match to Ulinzi Warriors.
In Kisumu, hosts Lady Bucks and Lakeside host Kenyatta University sides Oryx and Pirates in the women's and men's league matches respectively at Manyatta.
The hosts are looking to bounce back to winning ways, having lost their last home matches, Lady Bucks going down 30-63 to Equity Hawk while their male counterparts were no match for coach Carey Odhiambo's side as they lost 59-71.
In Nairobi, Equity Hawks play Eagle Wings while their male counterparts take on Umoja.
