Action resumes on 4 February with the women's league.

Daystar Falcons have taken full advantage of the two-month long Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) break to work on their game and coach Martin Kamau is confident the side will be better than they were last year as the league returns.

Falcons have a busy two days as the league returns on 4 February as they play four matches on the said weekend.

On the opening day, Falcons play Net Navigators from 9am and Nairobi City Council (NCC) at 3pm before facing off with Amazon and Ulinzi Sharks on Sunday 5 February.

"This break has given us the chance to work on our game. We had played nine matches and our biggest undoing in the losses was lack of fitness. We have taken the time to work on that, in addition to tactical skills and I am impressed with where the team is.

We have had a week-long camp to prepare for the resumption and also played in the Kenyatta University (K.U) Open tournament last week and the performance was impressive. We will build on that going forward," Kamau offered.

The tactician has admitted that the team needed a boost in squad depth and he has since recruited three new players who come with considerable experience that will go a long way in turning around their fortunes.

"I am now confident the improvement in the squad I had coupled with the new additions will see us achieve our goals.

Being our first season in the league, we had set a target of getting six points from the two legs as we are playing against very experienced sides.

We are yet to pick any points but we intent to change that on the first weekend when the league returns," Kamau added.

The varsity side find themselves at the bottom of the 12-team women's log, winless and two points behind second last Rising Stars 28 behind leaders Nairobi Water Queens.
