
Kenyan international wins Cup in Denmark

Tyler Ongwae aided his Bakken Bears side to the Danish Cup on Saturday,
Kenyan international Tyler Ongwae inspired 18-time Danish Basketball Champions Bakken Bears to the Danish Cup on Saturday.
Bakken beat Horsens 80-82 in the Danish Cup final to reclaim the title they last won in 2018 as they upset the 2019 champions.
Ongwae scored seven points and had 10 rebounds in the game as he capped his wonderful performance with an assist.
Horsens led for the better part of the game especially in the final quarter but Bakken struck late in dramatic fashion to send the game to extra time.

Bakken resumed the third quarter guns blazing and took the lead with 47-42, but with 15 points in a row, Horsens came in the winning position as they went ahead 57-47.
The Bears got their grove back as they overturned a 47-57 deficit to 58-59 with six minutes left of the fourth quarter.
With three minutes left, Bakken came again in front with a three-pointer, but Horsens came back and forced the match into extra time after a 69-69 stalemate.
Ongwae was coming off an impeccable performance for the Kenya Morans team after his buzzer-beating shot earned the nation a historic slot in the 2021 Afrobasket Championship with a win over Angola.
The forward joined the Bakken Bears back in 2018 from Swiss outfit SAM Basket having also played in New Zealand and Italy.
