Meanwhile, baseball was introduced in Kenya by the US marines in 1970 in Bahati estate in Nairobi. Later the in 1997 the Kenya Baseball and Softball Association (KEBSA) was formed however, the association later split to form two entities of baseball and Softball.
The Baseball Federation of Kenya (BFK) was registered with the Registrar of Societies, and later as national sports federation under section 47 of the sports Act of 2013.
It is present in five regions in Kenya. Locally, the federation is affiliated to Kenya National sports council (KNSC), the Africa Baseball and Softball Association (ABSA), and the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC).
Meanwhile, at the same general assembly, NOC-K invited sports organizations and their stakeholders to join a new climate action for sports movement.
The General Assembly adopted the initiative with an aim of achieving a clear trajectory for the sports community through measuring, reducing and reporting greenhouse gas emissions established in line with the well below 2-degree scenario enshrined in the Paris Agreement.
