Gitau is impressed with the contribution of the duo so far
Kenya Pipeline coach Paul Gitau has singled out libero Betty Sifuna and setter Faith Imodia for praise following an impressive performance last weekend.
Regarding Imodia, Gitau hailed her quick adaptive nature as well as her understanding of her teammates.
”She is coordinating well with the team and I am happy. She is a quick learner and works very hard to learn the system. Her understanding of other players is quite impressive considering that every player differs in terms of size and height which determines the kind of attack to be played. This, she has mastered very well and is quite impressive,” said Gitau.
While referring to Sifuna, Gitau says he has found the best replacement for Agrippina Kundu.
“She looks and plays exactly like Kungu which is a big plus for our team considering that I have been looking for someone who can replace Aggripina in one or two matches and she perfectly fits the bill,” he opined.
Gitau said in essence he now has three liberos something that now adds steel to the position.
“We now have three good liberos and setters which gives us some good stability in the team. We can only do better and get better,” said the coach.
Meanwhile, Imodia has said she is happy with the reception she has received so far from the team.
“I have been received well. The players are very friendly and have not experienced any problem at all. I am happy to be here because we are playing more games. The coach is also very friendly and corrects one immediately which is very helpful for improvement,” she said.
Imodia promised not to disappoint if she gets a chance to play and has promised to post good results.
