Some teams are requesting for the playoffsto be moved to Nairobi as all teams are based in the city.

Former Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women's league champions Kenya Pipeline resumed training at their Nairobi training grounds earlier today.

The Paul Gitau- coached side is looking to reclaim the title they last won in 2017 but has since been won consecutively by Prisons Kenya.

This year's edition of the women's playoffs will pit the oil merchants against champions Prisons, title-hopefuls KCB and Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Gitau who took over the team in January 2020, before sporting activities were disrupted by Covid-19 could only lead the side to a third place finish in 2021.

This year, the tactician is hopeful that his charges will carry the day in a season when other teams are struggling with performance and others had asked for the season to be cancelled, some electing to skip the penultimate leg held in Mombasa.

However, Gitau's charges go to battle without some key players who have exited the team with the most recent being national team setter Esther Mutinda who jumped sheep to rivals KCB.

Kenyan international Violet Makuto has also left the club, joining United Arab Emirates (UAE) side Al Wasl from Kenya Pipeline.

Also unavailable for selection during the January 13 to 15 playoffs are Veronica Adhiambo and Noel Murambi who moved to Turkey and Cyprus respectively.
