All teams in the Pools will proceed to the quarter finals.

The Kenya men’s and women’s beach volleyball sides had mixed draws in the Commonwealth Games qualifiers slated for Saturday at Laboma Beach Resort in Accra, Ghana.

The women’s side who are fresh from competing at the 2020 Olympics last year have landed a favorable draw as they face Rwanda, South Africa and Mauritius in Pool B.

The men on the other side have landed a fiendish draw as they will face South Africa, Gambia, and Zambia in a draw that was conducted on Friday afternoon.

Ibrahim Oduori, James Mwaniki, Nicholas Lagat and Donald Mchete will make up the men’s team while the women’s teams will comprise of Brackcides Agala, Gaudencia Makokha, Naomi Too and Veronica Adhiambo.

After the group stages, all teams will then proceed to the quarter finals where they will play knockout fixtures according to their rankings in the group.

The unusual format was adopted to enable teams to acquire crucial points for the FIVB rankings that will come in handy in the Commonwealth Games.
