Hospital Hill faced off with rivals Highway Secondary in the Nairobi Region finals last weekend, winning 19-15 to book their slot to the nationals

Kenya Secondary School Sport Association (KSSSA) term one national games are scheduled to kick off on 25 to 28 April at Hill School in Eldoret as Rift Valley region got the hosting rights.

The four-day event will see schools from across the eight regions compete in ball games including handball, hockey, basketball, rugby as well swimming and athletics.

National handball champions Hospital Hill have themselves a fight on their hands as they look to defend the title they won last year against Rift Valley representatives Kamito.

Coached by premier league player with Black Mamba Oscar Olulo, Hospital Hill are without eight of their key players that delivered the title in Nakuru last year. The eight have cleared school.

This, however, the tactician says will not hinder their charge for the title as they have a squad that is as good as last years that is ready to battle to the last whistle for the title.

“We are in a tough pool as we get to play last year’s finalists Kamito in the ground stage. We will, however, not get ahead of ourselves and approach the competition one match at a time well aware that every team is good enough to be on this stage,” Olulo said.

He continued, “From last year’s first team, only Brian Wafula remained in the team. The second team has stepped up and they have gained enough experience coming off the bench in previous competitions and in the league to do well in Eldoret. We are going there with the title defense in mind but also careful not to be complacent.”
