Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) celebrates Huduma Day with some action at the Nyayo handball court. Six matches are on the cards.
The highlight match of the day will likely be the clash between Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Sand Strathmore HC, a varsity derby per excellence.
JKUAT are coming off a closely fought loss to General Service Unit (GSU) on Sunday, going down 31-26 after leading for the better part of the match. Strathmore, on their part, have played seven matches, winning four and drawing once with two losses to their tally.
After their show on Sunday, star player Dolan Bwibo says his side will look to build on that performance when they take on their varsity rivals on Tuesday.
“We had a good game against GS, led for the better part of the match but a lapse in concentration and lack of patience cost us the match. GSU also have depth that we lacked and that gave them an edge when push came to shove.
From that experience, we have picked valuable lessons that will help us in the clash against Strathmore. It gives us confidence for Tuesday’s match and others to come as we look to make the Super Cup this season,” Bwibo told Mozzart Sport.
In other matches, Technical University of Kenya (TUK) face league champions National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) while Engineers who dropped a point in their last match on Sunday after playing for a 35-all draw against Kenyatta University (K.U) are on a redemption mission when they take on Spartans.
Daystar University take on K.U in another varsity derby as they look to get back to winning ways, having lost to University of Eldoret (UoE) Pippers in their last outing.
In the women’s league, Amazon take on Rising Star as K.U play JKUAT.
