Luka Doncic's shocking trade to LA has caused a proper earthquake in the US, and now it's time for some harsh facts
NBA star Dennis Schroder compared the trade deadline in the league with a 'modern-day slavery'.
The 31-year-old German international gave his thoughts on the NBA trades, following Luka Doncic's shocking move to the Los Angeles Lakers, which has caused a proper avalanche of reactions following the Dallas Mavericks's decision to get rid of their most important players in recent years.
"It's like modern slavery," Schroder said in the interview with NBC Sports Bay Area after the Warriors' 104-99 win against the Orlando Magic on Monday night. "It's modern slavery at the end of the day. Everybody can decide where you're going, even if you have a contract. Yeah, of course, we make a lot of money, and we can feed our families, but at the end of the day, if they say, 'You're not coming to work tomorrow, you're going over there,' they can decide that. They got to change that a little bit."

Schroder has made an estimated $103 million in his 11-year NBA career. Therefore, he added that he was still grateful and blessed...
"I'm still grateful that we're here and that we can live this every single day. I think everybody who's in here is blessed. But if you really think about it, it is kind of crazy that the organization can tell you, 'We want you to be team-first, but you're going over there.' It's a lot," concluded he.
