The Oilers are set to feature in the African Clubs’ Championships alongside the KCB Volleyball team
Kenya Pipeline coach Paul Gitau has predicted that the team could retain their national title un-beaten this season.
Pipeline, are the current league champions having being declared so in January this year.
Prior to this year, Pipeline had lost won the title in 2017 in Mombasa and together with runners-up KCB will represent the country in this year’s African Clubs’ Championships.
A delighted Gitau said he has seen plenty of improvements in every aspect of the team making it possible for them to defend the league title unbeaten.
“My team is improving in some aspects every other day. If we continue in this way, then going unbeaten is a possibility,” he told the club’s media team.
He, pointed out that the team has become very strong on service, was getting better on blocking and added to their lethal attack gives them a big edge.
Gitau, is also full of praise for his younger players pointing out that they have proved themselves after being given a chance to play.
“I am one person who believes that we have to give our young ones a chance not just today or tomorrow but that if a chance arises we have to make them play. If you are not playing a stiff game, there is no reason to enter a strong team that will smash the opposition.
“I believe in competition and love to see how my young players are controlling themselves without the older ones. This morning I am very happy with them. They have proved that their tomorrow is very bright,” he added.
