The Kisumu-based outfit thumped Sliders 4-0 in their weekend opener on Saturday to steer clear of the drop zone.
Lakers Hockey Club rounded up their Nairobi tour with a gallant 1-1 draw against record Kenyan champion Blazers in the Women's Premier League at City Park on Sunday.
The Kisumu-based outfit thumped Sliders 4-0 in their weekend opener on Saturday to steer clear of the drop zone.
Buoyed by the impressive show, Lakers went into the game against Blazers tail-up and found the back of the net in the second quarter through Aurelia Opondo in the 19th minute.
The joy, however, could not last till the last whistle as Blazers leveled up through Maureen Okumu in the 55th minute.
Lakers finish the first leg of Kenya Hockey Union (KHU), Premier League, with eight points from two wins, two draws and two losses.
"As much as we were the better side and deserved to pick maximum points against the Blazers, I'm very proud of the ladies for making us proud against a very good side with great history. Amassing four points away in an outing is not a mean achievement," Lakers Team Manager John Paul Otieno told Mozzart Sport.
"We have played most of our first leg games away, that gives us an advantage moving into the second leg as we will be hosting more matches," John added.
