Buju was another big winner on Saturday as he marked his crossover from muay thai with victory over Abdul Athman
Kenya's George "King George" Onyango made sure to walk his weigh-in talk on Saturday as he inflicted a first defeat on Ugandan opponent Junju Power to book his place into the prestigious finale of the four-man welterweight boxing tournament set for August.
The 26-year-old, who was fighting in the main event of an exciting nine-match card at the Edge Convention Centre in Nairobi, proved the more tenacious boxer, as he went head-to-head with the unbeaten Power, eventually retiring him as the fight entered the fifth round.
The win, his 10th of his pro-career, means he will be going for the ultimate prize of Ksh. 500,000 when he faces another Ugandan welterweight - Isaac Ssebuufu.
This is after the latter, boasting a 6-0-0 record, extended his unbeaten run with another impressive win on Kenyan soil, beating homeboy Richard Okoth in four rounds.
Ssebuufu and Onyango later had a brief faceoff in the ring, sparking a rivalry that will go on till the two lock horns back again in Nairobi.
Young boxer Wilson Odembo meanwhile claimed the men's national super flyweight championship after proving a way superior pugilist over a clearly helpless Joseph Akahonya, who was dismissed with relative ease inside the first three rounds.

Crowd-delight Praxides Anyango on the other hand, retained her PST Super-Featherweight title, following a unanimous judges' decision win over Tanzanian Najib Isike.
There was a sixth victory for Kenya's Emmanuel Chivoli, as he recorded a judges scorecard win over Swalick Kisutu of Tanzania, as did Alvin Owino, who bettered countryman Paul Kimani.

National featherweight champion Albert Kimario also defended his title after stopping Uganda's Aldin Muzei in the third round, with John Juma of Kenya recording a win over Mike Lukyamuzi of Uganda.
The other big win of the day went to Kenya's Javan Buyu, who on his pro-boxing debut, secured a unanimous judges victory over fellow countryman Athman Hakim Abdul in the first bout of the day.
