Eleven years later, we will watch a replay of one of the greatest boxing matches of this century
The long-speculated showdown is finally official: Floyd Mayweather, 48, and Manny Pacquiao, 47, are set to meet again in a professional bout, with ‘Money’ once more putting his flawless 50-0 record on the line.
Netflix has confirmed that the rematch will take place on September 19 at the striking Sphere in Las Vegas. Their first encounter, back in 2015, ended in a unanimous decision win for Mayweather—a fight that, despite the hype, left many fans disappointed.

This week, Mayweather announced his return following a nine-year retirement. He plans to kick off his comeback with an exhibition against Mike Tyson this spring, before stepping into the professional ring against Pacquiao. For context, American's last official fight was against Conor McGregor in 2017.
Pacquiao, meanwhile, returned to the ring in 2025 after a four-year hiatus, challenging Mario Barrios for the welterweight world title. That clash ended in a draw, with Barrios keeping the belt, though Pacquiao impressed for a fighter of his age. Before facing Mayweather again, the Filipino legend will take part in an exhibition with Russian boxer and politician Ruslan Provodnikov.

Reflecting on the matchup, Pacquiao—winner of 12 world titles across eight weight classes—remarked, "Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history. The fans have waited long enough. They deserve this rematch." Mayweather, who turns 49 on Tuesday, added confidently, "I already fought and beat Manny once. This time will be the same result."
