The Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) Games produced another day of drama on Wednesday, with St. Charles Lwanga shocking defending champions Musingu 1–0 in boys’ hockey to ignite a tense title race heading into the final day.
Shariff Wanga proved the hero for the Ugandan side, firing home a penalty corner in the 42nd minute that sealed a memorable victory. The win lifted St. Charles to third in the standings, level on points with St. Anthony’s Kitale, and kept their hopes of a first-ever FEASSSA crown alive.

With just one round left, the permutations are clear: St. Charles must beat table leaders Kakungulu tomorrow to stand a chance of clinching the title. If they win and St. Anthony also triumph over Ugandan champions Mbarara, Kenya would secure both gold and silver medals.
However, should St. Charles slip and St. Anthony’s prevail, the Ugandans Kakungulu will celebrate their third championship.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport after their win against Musingu, St. Charles Lwanga head coach Julius Masero hailed his side’s fighting spirit after the historic win.

“It was a win that favoured our campaign as we march forward,” said Masero. “The Kakungulu match is a must-win for us. We are determined to ensure we get gold for Team Kenya and we’re not backing down.”
Elsewhere in boys’ hockey, Kakungulu cruised past Mpesa 4–0, St. Anthony overwhelmed Kyadondo 6–1, and Mbarara edged Ntare 2–1.
Hockey defending champions St. Joseph’s Girls Kitale marched closer to retaining their title after thrashing Bweranyangi 7–0 in a commanding display. The champions, who face Kakungulu in their final fixture tomorrow, remain firm favourites to seal back-to-back titles.
