Andiego, who announced her move to cross over to the professional ranks last month, is hopeful that her second shot at a debut will not slip through her fingers again, days after seeing her opportunity against Tanzania’s Christina Raura scuppered.

“The excitement is still there for me to finally make my pro debut,” Andiego told Mozzart Sport on Wednesday, hours after being billed in the “Nightmare in Nairobi III” fight-card that will take place at Masshouse, Ngong.

The 39-year-old, as per sources close to Mozzart Sport, is set to face off against another Tanzanian boxer with limited time on the ring, although the promoter is yet to make the fight-card public.

Having seen her aforementioned fight called off just hours prior due to Raura’s suspected failed medical, Andiego is a bit more reserved on what to expect come fight-night, hoping lightning will not strike twice.

"A lot of fans have been on my case because they were made to wait for my debut, only for the fight to be cancelled,” the 2012 Olympian said. “They want to know how sure this upcoming one will be, but I guess we have to wait and see.”

Asked about how her preparations have been, the super-middleweight said: “I never stopped training after the previous fight was cancelled. I have been in the gym all through, and maybe the positive thing is that I have had more time to train harder.”

Another Kenyan boxer poised to make the same fight-card as Andiego will be Emmanuel ‘El Toro' Chivoli, who will be making his second appearance under Kalakoda, having overcome Tanzania’s Ally Mulenga via unanimous decision last November.
