Siganga, who has already clinched staff winner titles in both the Nyanza and Nandi legs this season, is expected to bring his trademark power and precision to a course he describes as “favourable to my style of play.”
A former rugby powerhouse, Siganga made his mark with the University of Nairobi’s Mean Machine and Kenya Harlequins, capturing multiple Kenya Cup and Enterprise Cup titles in the 1990s and early 2000s.
He also represented Kenya in the 15s national team, the Simbas, and later chaired the Rhinos Rugby Franchise, leading them to Bamburi Rugby Super Series titles in 2003 and 2007.
But it was a 2009 job transfer to Mumias by his employer, KCB, that changed the course of his sporting life.
Surrounded by golf-loving friends from Mumias Sugar Company, Siganga began tagging along to weekend tournaments.
What started as a casual interest soon evolved into a decorated golf career.
His golfing credentials speak for themselves. Sigi is a two-time staff winner at the Nakuru leg of the KCB Golf Tour, in 2013 and again in 2024, highlighting his consistency and mastery of the course.
He also triumphed in the Kakamega and Nyanza editions in 2023 and was crowned Inter Bank Golf Champion at Sigona in October 2023.
“I like Nakuru’s layout. It rewards tactical play and calm under pressure, two things I have worked on over time,” said Siganga ahead of this weekend’s tee-off.
His confidence is buoyed by his recent form and deep familiarity with the course terrain.
Beyond the greens, Siganga’s leadership of the course continues to stand out.
He has served as Chairman of the Kakamega Sports Club, President of Lions Club Kakamega, and was a member of the Budget and Economic Forum for Kakamega County.
Siganga is also expected to feature in the upcoming Kakamega and Kisii legs of the KCB Tour, where he aims to extend his winning streak and inspire greater participation in the sport across Western Kenya.
