The ultimate champion will represent Kenya in the Tour Finals in Paris
As the days draw nearer to the highly anticipated March 11 eLigue 1 Tour Grand Finals, the tournament organizers Index G esports on Sunday conducted the final draw that will see eight top gamers from the February 26 eLigue 1 Tour qualifiers battle it out for a sole spot to represent Kenya in the Paris Tour Finals on May 13 2023.
Freaks 4U Gaming Studios, Paris will host the global finals that are fully sponsored by Ligue 1 UberEats.
In the first round of quarter finals, Derrick Maina ‘Derro’ will take on high school student Emmanuel ‘Taliban’ Atak in what has been dubbed as an ‘experience vs rookie.’
The other last eight matchup will involve George Kimaru and Dennis ‘Mbemba’ Musyoki with the winner set to match up the winners from the first quarter final.
George Kimaru is the only finalist to survive from the qualifiers that saw tournament defending champion Luony ‘Fox’ Teat, Istanbul Kenyan representative Evander ‘Viera’ Maina and Elias ‘Stylz’ Onchari all knocked out in the opening two rounds.
