Drivers predict tough season ahead of Nakuru opener

Following reconnaissance and pre event scrutineering, crews have predicted a tough outing on the season-opening of the KCB Nakuru Rally.

Soysambu Conservancy, the venue for the start and finish of the Rift Valley Motor Sport Club (RVMSC) organised round, saw 19 drivers cleared for the season opener.

Chief Scrutineer Musa Locho took the rally cars through thorough pre event checks. Scrutineering is usually conducted prior, during, and post-rally events.

Linet Ayuko, who is navigating Hussein Malik of the Version 6 Rally Team predicted a tough outing tomorrow saying it's a navigators rally. Linet says the rally is a "Mickey Mouse' kind of drive where navigators have to remain spot on.

This year's Nakuru Rally will feature a three-stage loop which will be repeated for a total competitive distance of 141km. Three stages that will be repeated as per the itinerary are Soysambu (32.10km), Elementaita (18.79km), and Sleeping Warrior (19.80km).

Drivers will nevertheless savor a relatively shorter transport road section of 34.42km.
